Powerful integration capabilities

IPS EAM System and APM Systems are strongly tied together.

Unlike all other analytics modules from other Vendors with isolated modules (i.e. not directly correlated with main EAM), IPS APM functionality is just an extension to EAM and directly connected to planning, scheduling, Asset Investment Planning (AIP) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)

Health Index calculation

Also referred to as Health Score, the Health Index is calculated based upon several calculated factors including Location, Duty, Observed Condition, Measured Condition, Reliability, and Age. The Observed and Measured Condition factors are an aggregate of the Condition Indexes of the subcomponents of the asset. For example, a Power Transformer condition factor would be calculated based of the indexes of the Bushing, Cooling, Oil, Paper, and Tank.

Probability of Failure calculation

The Probability of Failure (Pof) is a function of the Health Index (HI) and Age. It is calculated on an exponential curve where the higher the HI goes, the greater the forecasted aging rate, leading to a higher future health score based on deterioration, resulting in a higher probability of failure. Note: The PoF is not calculated until the HI passes a predefined threshold.

End of Life prediction

Criticality can be derived from many factors such as cost of replacement, network disruption, environmental impact, and many more. The IPS system allows the user to configure any relevant logic to assign criticality to assets.

Activity Prioritization

Each asset will have a risk index based on condition and criticality of the asset. The higher the risk index, the higher the priority for maintenance actions.

By assigning resources to the maintenance concepts, IPS can use analytics to estimate what the budget will need to be for maintenance optimization. Combined with CAPEX/OPEX simulation, IPS will be able to offer estimated predictions for both Capital and O&M budgets.

Warehouse Optimization

By optimizing Maintenance vs Refurbishment vs Replacement, IPS can assist in warehouse optimization by identifying when you will need to order replacement parts and replacement assets.

Performance Overview

IPS can provide aggregation of the analytics for complex objects such as substations or lines, providing a performance overview at the Facility (station or line), Region, or even Grid level.
